Spring Term, 2017

Happy New Year to you all!

Just a few updates to this term.

Your child's reading day, for returning books to school for changing, will remain the same.   Please can diaries be signed and dated for each read.  A longer book may take several reads to complete and each time that they read is counted towards the 150 reading challenge.  Also, other books that may be read at home can be added to the diary and the reads counted.  We have a class reading display in our class and in the school library and each child will move a butterfly as they reach reading milestones. We have already had some children attaining 150 reads! Many thanks for encouraging regular reading.

Homework will be slightly different this term.  The children will have: weekly spellings, weekly times tables, comprehension and a weekly Maths piece of homework.  All homework will be given on a Friday and be due back the following Wednesday. Children may find it easier completing a little bit over each day.  A homework timetable and homework rules are in the front of your child's  homework book.

Times table and spelling tests will take place every Thursday.

Your child will continue to go swimming every Wednesday.  If swimming kits could please be brought in on this day.  This term, your child may be asked to bring in clothing for swimming for survival lessons.  This will consist of shorts and a T-shirt in additional to their normal swimming attire. PE kits can stay in the cloakroom cupboards for the full half term.

Thank you for your help with this and encouraging your child with their homework.
