Autumn Term, 2017

Welcome to Roe Class!

Your child will be bringing home a class leaflet with general information this week.  They will be given a reading day for bringing in their home reading book.  Please can diaries be signed and dated for each read.  A longer book may take several reads to complete and each time that they read is counted towards the 150 reading challenge.  Also, other books that may be read at home can be added to the diary and the reads counted.  We have a class reading display in our class and in the school library and each child will move a butterfly as they reach reading milestones.

Homework will soon be coming home.  The children will have: weekly spellings, weekly times tables, SPAG/handwriting and a weekly Maths piece of homework.  All homework will be given on a Friday and be due back the following Wednesday. Particularly in the Autumn term, as children are settling back into school life, a little bit over each day may be easier.  A homework timetable and rules will be in the homework book.

Times table and spelling tests will take place every Thursday.

Year 4 children will go swimming every Wednesday.  If swimming kits could please be brought in on this day.  PE kits can stay in the cloakroom cupboards for the full half term.

Thank you for your help with this and encouraging your child with their homework.
