Summer Term

Just a few updates to this term.

This term, homework will focus on reading. Your child's reading day, for returning books to school for changing, will remain the same.   Please can diaries be signed and dated for each read.  A longer book may take several reads to complete and each time that they read is counted towards the 150 reading challenge.  Also, other books that may be read at home can be added to the diary and the reads counted.  We have a class reading display in our class and in the school library and each child will move a butterfly as they reach reading milestones. We have already had some children attaining 150 reads! Many thanks for encouraging regular reading.

As the focus for homework is daily reading.  Homework will now consist of: weekly spelling and  weekly times tables, in addition to reading.  All homework will be given on a Friday.

Some children  will continue to go swimming every Wednesday.  If swimming kits could please be brought in on this day.  If your child is no longer going swimming, please can they have a PE kit each week on Wednesday. If the weather allows, PE will take place outside so tracksuit bottoms and trainers would be preferable.  Your child will have brought home a letter stating whether or not they are continuing with swimming.

Thank you for your continued support.
