'With Jesus, we learn as a joyful family and flourish to be the best that we can be'
We have settled quickly into the Autumn term. Straight away we began rehearsing for our play, The Tempest. The children have worked really hard learning their lines, supporting each other and knowing when to come on stage. Thank you so much to parents and grandparents who have helped with the learning of lines. The children have shown lots of enthusiasm for the play and it has been a delight watching their confidence grow. We are the youngest age performing and the children have really impressed with how they have responded to the challenge of learning and understanding the language of Shakespeare.
Welcome back and a Happy New Year!
I hope that everyone has had a restful Christmas and is looking forward to the up and coming term. After our Christmas break, we are starting back with our new Rock and Roll topic. Mrs Maudsley is back from her maternity leave and is joining us, in Roe class, each Thursday. English begins by looking at Wallace and Grommit, and seeing all the disasters that befall these two lovable characters. We will then move on to analysing adverts and how they are used to persuade. In Maths, we will be looking at lots of areas, including negative numbers, fractions and division. We will continue having weekly mental multiplication tests. If you can please continue to help your child to learn their times tables, as part of their weekly homework, as this will help in their class work.
Keep looking at our class page for any updates, thank you.
I hope that you all have had a restful Easter.
The year seems to flying by and already we are entering the summer term!
This term, not all of Roe class will be swimming on a Wednesday afternoon. Those children who do not go swimming this term will be doing PE at school. If all children though can please make sure that they have their named PE kits in school at all times.
Homework will continue this term to be given on a Friday and be due in the following Wednesday. Times tables and spelling tests will continue to be on a Thursday.
Well done to those children who have already received a book for reaching 150 reads and those children who are nearly there. Keep reading!
