'With Jesus, we learn as a joyful family and flourish to be the best that we can be'

Earth Day

Earth Day is an annual event that is observed on 22nd April, during which people show their support for environmental protection. Earth Day aims to raise awareness about the environmental challenges that our planet is facing and to inspire people to do something about them. This year's theme is 'Invest in our planet'.

The children in Ward class created a class poem about deforestation and its effects:

Hope for the future

Deforestation causes trouble,

It increases global warming temperatures,

It encourages climate change,

Why are you ruining our future?

We need to find solutions to fix it,

Reduce, re-use and recycle,

This should be our mantra,

Are you willing to help save our future?

Avoid products with palm oil,

It may lead to the extinction of orangutans,

Buy products that use renewable sources,

Can you help save the rainforest and the animals?

The children also designed alternative book covers for the book 'The Great Kapok Tree' by Lynne Cherry which they have been studying in English.

Here are some examples of the alternative book covers the children created for the story 'The Great Kapok Tree' by Lynne Cherry.
