English Tasks

Daily GPS Challenge:

Start each day by thinking of a noun, a verb, an adjective and an adverb. Can you write each one in a sentence? Remember, it depends on how you use the word. In the first sentence below, 'running' is an adjective because it describes the shoes. In the second sentence below, 'running' is a verb. Can you tell someone at home why it is a verb in the second sentence?

Sally was wearing her running shoes.

Sally was enjoying running in the garden.

Poetry: Have a go at the weekly plan below!

Extra task: Have a go at the SATs paper below. You could spread it out over the week or complete it in one go. Don't worry if you don't have a printer - read from the screen and write the answers in your book. smiley

**Remember to look at the Year 2 Common Exception Words in the 'Homework' section of our class page. You could choose 5 every week to revise spelling and writing in a sentence.
