Finch - Year 1/2

Welcome to Finch Class

Year 1/2

Mrs Venables and Mr Smart

Blessed John Finch

Martyred 30th April 1534

John Finch was born about 1548. He was a yeoman of EcclestonLancashire, from a Catholic family, but brought up an Anglican. When he was twenty years old he went to London where he spent nearly a year with some cousins at Inner Temple. While there he was struck by the contrast between Protestantism and Catholicism in practice, and determined to lead a Catholic life. He later returned to Lancashire where he was reconciled to the Catholic Church.

Welcome to Finch Class

We hope you have had a lovely summer break and you're ready to start another exciting year at school! We are really excited to welcome you to Finch Class.

A few things to remember:

  • Please bring your reading books in every day and put them in the box as you arrive.
  • Bring your PE kits in in the first week and keep them on your peg. We will send them home every half term to be washed.
  • Spellings will be sent home on a Monday and should be returned by Friday.

Thank you for your continued support,

Mrs Venables
