'With Jesus, we learn as a joyful family and flourish to be the best that we can be'
I hope you've all had a great week. If you haven't already, please can you make sure to take a picture of one piece of English and one piece of Maths from the week (only 2 pieces altogether, not one each day) and email it to me on purple mash. I will set 2Do's for you to complete too. Missing you all so much!
Carry on reading your book on GetEpic.
Remember, try to read for at least 10 minutes each day!
Your books for this week are:
Group 1 Comets: Cinderella
Group 2 Planets: Puss in Boots
Group 3 Astronauts: Jack and the Beanstalk
Group 4 Rockets: Beauty and the Beast
Group 5 Stars: Dinner with Fox
If you have finished your book then please feel free to choose another one on the website
LO: To find key information in a text
Can you think of some adjectives to describe these nouns?
Today we are finding information in the text. Remember to read the text very carefully, the information is always there!
EXT: Can you write some feelings down of how your character is going to be feeling at different points of your story. For example, he may be upset at the beginning, angry in the middle and excited at the end.
Go onto phonics play and look at phase 5. Play tricky word trucks and then you can choose some other games.
Write down the tricky words and use them in sentences.
LO: To measure mass using standard units of measure.
Mental Maths Starter:
What are the even numbers up to 20? Can you write these down and do you notice a pattern?
Today we are looking at comparing mass and weight using 1 kilogram (kg). Did you know, there are 1000g in 1kg!
We are looking at objects that are less than 1kg, equal to 1kg and more than 1kg. See what items you can find around the house. Ask an adult to help you with heavier items.
EXT: Can you make a list of items that would be heavier than 1kg but you wouldn't be able to measure the mass of. For example, a tree.
I have set you lots of 2Do's on purple mash.
LO: To move with skill
Find a safe space to complete the exercises. Enjoy!
