I hope you've all had a great week. If you haven't already, please can you make sure to take a picture of one piece of English and one piece of Maths from the week (only 2 pieces altogether, not one each day) and email it to me on purple mash. I will set 2Do's for you to complete too. Missing you all so much!
Carry on reading your book on Get Epic.
Remember, try to read for at least 10 minutes each day!

If you have finished your book then please feel free to choose another one on the website
LO: To write and perform instructions
Add the suffix 'ing' to these words. Write the words out three times, then choose three words to put into your own sentences.
Today you are looking back at the instructions you have written and adding any last bits you think you may need.
Make a list of a few imperative verbs (bossy verbs) and try to use 3 of these words in a sentence.
Go onto phonics play and look at phase 5. Play tricky word trucks and go onto phase 5A tricky words. Then you can choose some other games.
Write down the tricky words and use them in sentences.
LO: To share amounts equally
Mental Maths Starter:
David has 20 chocolates. He shares them equally between himself and 3 friends. How many chocolates will each person get?
Today we are looking at sharing equally in groups. Remember to draw big circles and to draw dots to share equally.
Can you share 20 strawberries in 2 groups?
Now can you share them in 5 groups?
LO: To recognise Mass as a special meal
Think back to our previous theme about how the parish family gathers at Mass. With an adult, read the story below.
Last week, I asked Mum why we always went to Mass on Sunday morning. Mum said Sunday was a special day for the friends of Jesus. “It’s a day when the parish family gather together to remember Jesus, a day when they celebrate Jesus’ love,” she told me. “It is a very special meal that Jesus asked us to celebrate to remember him. It helps us love Jesus more.”
After Mass, Mum bought me a book in the little shop at the back of church. It is all about Sunday. It has pictures of what happens at Mass. When we got home, Dad read it with me. I can remember lots of things it told us. There is a picture of the priest welcoming all the people. He reminds them that they have come together to remember Jesus and his love for them. He says a prayer. Everyone sits down to listen to stories about Jesus. They say prayers thanking God for sending Jesus. Some receive Holy Communion, and some receive a blessing. The priest sends people home to take Jesus’ love out to everyone they meet.
Now, with what you already know about Mass from our previous work, write down four or five sentences to explain some of the things that happen during Mass:-the welcome, listening to stories about Jesus, receiving Holy Communion or a blessing and taking Jesus’ love to everyone. I have attached some pictures to help you.
LO: To move with skill
Find a safe space to complete the exercises. Enjoy!
