Woodcock Class

Welcome to our Home Learning page.

I have divided the Home Learning page in to six different weeks. Within those weeks there will be daily and weekly tasks.

Daily Tasks:

  • Morning Maths- a set of arithmetic based questions
  • Maths Lesson- a daily maths lesson with a tutorial video and questions
  • English Lesson- a daily lesson from a unit of work for the week
  • One other subject: This will be one other lesson such Science, Art, RE or Geography (There will be 3 weeks of Art followed by 3 weeks of Geography)

*To allow teachers to monitor the learning taking place, and to make amendments as necessary, children/parents are expected to send evidence of one completed Maths, English, and Purple Mash task over the week.*

Please see our Remote/Blended Learning Policy

Weekly Tasks:

Spellings- there are 15 spellings altogether with the first 10 spellings being set as a spelling quiz '2DO' on Purple Mash each week.

Weekly Reading- I have set a '2DO' on Purple Mash to read a story and answer 5 questions after each chapter. Some of the stories have 5, 6 or 7 chapters so you may need to read more than one chapter each day.

Weekly Maths Basic Skills-To be completed instead of a Morning Maths Task. (30 mins Max)

Below I have given an example of how a time table for the week could look.

If you have any problems regarding any of the work, please, please get in touch with me and let me know and I will help you as soon as I am able to. I do not want nor expect you to be spending any longer than you normally would completing a lesson-this is important!

However, it is OK if you choose to do extra work or spend longer on a particular lesson.

I hope you are all keeping well and looking after yourselves!

We miss you in class smiley

Thursday 4th March is World Book Day. To take part  you need to wear a mask-this could be one you have, or one you make (or just covering your face with a book or an object if you are struggling for a mask) This could be a photograph or a short video clip of you reading part of the book!!

I just want to say how proud I am of you all this half term. I know it has been challenging at times but you have done fantastically well with all your work and effort. I have really enjoyed receiving your emails, seeing your work and finding out about all the things that you have been doing over the last six weeks. Please see below for just some of your amazing work over this half term. (I think I have got work from everybody but if you can't see your work, please let me know and i'll add it smiley)

Have a lovely half term with your families and I hope you get to do some nice things together.

Hopefully we will all be back together in school very soon!
