A very warm welcome to Mary Class Page. On our class page, you will find lots of information about this year. Please keep checking this page for any updates throughout the  year.

Our online scrapbook will have photographs of our favourite moments throughout the year!

Letters and Curriculum Overview

If you need any information about our class routines or updates about events, then please click on the links below. If you would like to explore our topics at home with your children, please use the Knowledge Organisers on our class pages to support you.

Important information about our weekly routines:

You will receive a leaflet about our class routines on the first week of term, however please use this page for any updates.

Our PE days are on Mondays and Tuesdays. Please make sure your child wears a white t-shirt, a red school jumper, navy blue shorts or joggers, socks and trainers for PE days. Everyone now wears their PE kit to school on their class's allotted PE days. (Updated May 2022)  The year 4 students specifically will need to have their swimming kit (including a swimming cap and a towel) on their swimming day.

If your child is in Year 4, they will attend swimming lessons at Chorley Leisure Centre at one point throughout the year. The children have been split into 4 groups so group 1 will be starting their swimming lessons on Friday 16th September. Children must be in school at 8.20am ready to leave school at 8.30am and must have all their swimming kit. Please see the letter for more information.

Reading books

You child will receive a slip informing them of what day their reading book will be changed. Please ensure books are in school every day so you child can read to an adult and their book can be changed. Books can only be changed if there is a dated parent or carer's signature on the reading record. For each signed reading session at home or in school, the children will receive a tally toward their 150 Read Challenge. When 150 'reads' are completed, children can choose a new book which will be presented to them in Celebration Assembly on Fridays.

Times tables Rockstar

You child has been given their Times tables Rockstar password to take home. You can use this to log on and practise times tables at home. I will keep checking scores to see who is our weekly champion! Good luck!

Homework this year will consist of reading nightly for at least 15 minutes, memorising a new times table weekly and learning a spelling list weekly. On Fridays, we will have a times table test and a spelling test to check for understanding. All homework tasks for the term are available on our homework page.

If you have any other questions or concerns, then please do not hesitate to get in touch.
