'With Jesus, we learn as a joyful family and flourish to be the best that we can be'

Area is what we will be working on for today and tomorrow. Do not worry about what we have been learning so far for Fractions and Multiplication. We will have time next week to plug in any gaps that some of you may not have understood whilst working from home.

Do you all remember when we were finding the perimeter of rectilinear shapes? Well now we are going to be finding the area in a similar way. The LO for at least today and tomorrow will be: To calculate and compare the area of rectangles (including squares), and including using standard units, square centimetres (cm2 ) and square metres (m2 ) and estimate the area of irregular shapes.

So what do we need to think about now?

Keyword: Irregular... what is an irregular shape? What is a regular shape? What does rectilinear mean? What is a compound/composite shape? See if you can remember yourself first then have a look at the links below to remind you!

Go through the BBC Video below and have a go at the questions. You choose your own level- don't be afraid of challenging yourselves.
