'With Jesus, we learn as a joyful family and flourish to be the best that we can be'

Maths

This week, the focus of our lessons will be addition and subtraction, place value and rounding. Remember to write the short date and L.O. in your book before you start the video and traffic light your work at the end. Here are some lesson starters for you to try each day too to keep up with our revision of key learning:

  • Keep practising your 2, 3, 4, 5, 8 and 10 times tables. You should now be trying hard to answer the questions as quickly as possible. See how many you can answer within a minute.
  • Practise doubling and halving 2 digit numbers and see how quickly you can answer the question. For example, double 22 = 44, double 15 = 30, half of 84 = 42 etc. Move on to 3 digits if you are able.
  • Choose a month of the year and say how many days it contains. See if you can also answer questions about units of time. For example: How many seconds in a minute? How many minutes in an hour? How many days in a year? What is a leap year?
