'With Jesus, we learn as a joyful family and flourish to be the best that we can be'

This week, the focus of our lessons will be rounding, place value and problem solving. You may want to revisit the last lesson from before half term to remind yourself where we were up to with rounding. Remember to write the short date and L.O. in your book before you start the video and traffic light your work at the end. Some of the videos are slightly shorter so here are some extra tasks to use as lesson starters and for extension tasks:

  • Practise doubling and halving 2 digit numbers and see how quickly you can answer the question. For example, double 22 = 44, double 15 = 30, half of 84 = 42 etc. Move on to 3 digits if you are able.
  • Look at objects around the house and see if you can identify 2D and 3D shapes. For example, a glue stick is a cylinder.
  • Count in tens forwards and backwards from different starting points, including 3 digit numbers. For example, '110, 120, 130....' or '124, 134, 144...'.
  • Look at multiples of the 2, 3, 4, 5, 8 and 10 times tables. Find the common multiples. Complete number sequences.
  • Practise your column addition and subtraction.

Now see if you can create your own problems for someone at home to answer!
