Today you are going to plan your story in a box up format just like we have done in class before. Remember you need a beginning, middle and end in your story. You also need a problem and solution.

Create a list of words with the suffix '-ing' that you could use in your story.

Go onto phonics play and look at phase 5. Play flashcards speed trial and then you can choose some other games.

Main Task:

Today we are looking at 2D shapes. Before you watch the video, can you tell an adult all of the shapes you can already name.

See how many different shapes you can find around your house.

LO: To describe what happens at Mass
The priest leads the parish family as they gather to celebrate Mass at church on Sunday. The priest is a special person who has been chosen to do God’s work.
As a gathering hymn is being sung the priest and the altar servers process through the church to the altar. The priest, with everyone, makes the Sign of the Cross and says some words of welcome.
The priest wears different coloured vestments according to the time of the Church’s Year. Green is worn in Ordinary times.

Have a look at the picture below of Mass and think about the following questions

  • What is happening in this picture?
  • Which special person can you see?
  • What is the priest wearing?
  • What colour is the priest wearing?
  • What is the priest doing?
  • What do you think he means by holding out his arms?

Inside the picture of the cross I have attached, can you write the names of all of the special people who help out at Mass on a Sunday.

Can you write a short paragraph explaining what happens at Mass. It only needs to be 3/4 sentences. Try to use a conjunction!
