'With Jesus, we learn as a joyful family and flourish to be the best that we can be'

Monday 1st February

Immediate Engagement: To use contractions (I'm, I'll, we'll).

We have done some work together in school on the contractions I'm, I'll and we'll.

We know that the apostrophe means a letter is missing (e.g I'm = I am).

Use the contractions below to write your own super sentences:

  • I'm
  • I'll
  • We'll

LO: To listen and respond to an information text.

In our first lesson of this unit, we will listen to and join in with an information text all about tigers.

This week we will be revising Phase 3 sounds ch, sh and th.

Please visit PhonicsPlay to access games focusing on these sounds. You could play Picnic on Pluto, Dragon's Den or Buried Treasure.

You could also play Tricky Word Trucks!

**If your child is more confident, please use the PhonicsPlay website to explore games and resources for Phase 4 and Phase 5.**

Immediate engagement: Find one more and one less than the numbers below:

  • 12
  • 16
  • 19
  • 22
  • 26
  • 29

LO: To compare and order three numbers within 20.

In this lesson you will use the language of tens and ones to compare three numbers and order them on a number line

Please click on the link below.

LO: To plan a special meal.

Today is the first lesson of our new RE topic 'Meals'.
Talk to your grown up about your experience of a special meal, it might have been a birthday party, Christmas, First Communion or Baptism celebration.

In your discussion, think about:

  • When might you have a special meal?
  • What makes a meal special?
  • Who was there?
  • Who prepared the meal?
  • What did you share?
  • How did you help?
  • What did you like best about it?
  • How did it make you feel?

Now, design your own special meal. This could be for Christmas, Easter, a birthday, party or family celebration.

EXT: Record three sentences to explain your meal and which celebration you have designed it for.
