'With Jesus, we learn as a joyful family and flourish to be the best that we can be'

Monday 20th April

English:

LO: To describe a setting.

Think about your favourite traditional story. This might be Jack and the Beanstalk, Goldilocks and the Three Bears or a story of your choice. The story you choose will be your focus in English this week.

Think about where the story is set (where does it happen?).

Write a list of 10 adjectives to describe the setting you have chosen.

Use your adjectives to write at least 5 sentences to describe the setting in your chosen story. Try to use conjunctions (and, so, but, because) in your writing to give more information.

Extend your learning to draw the setting you have described.

Science:

Our new Science focus is 'Living things and their habitats'. Today we will be looking at Minibeasts. Talk to an adult about what you already know.

Look at the PowerPoint below and talk to an adult about the minibeasts you can see. Talk about where the minibeasts live and how they travel (move).

Move on to choose two sheets from the 'Insect Labeling Activity Pages' and use the word banks on each sheet to label the pictures.

If you can't print the sheets, draw and label two minibeasts in your book. Think about their homes (habitats).
