In this lesson you will recognise and create shape patterns using 2-D shapes. You will continue patterns, identify missing shapes in patterns and describe them.

This is the first lesson of our new Science topic 'Growth'.


For the first part of our new topic, we are going to think about what we already know about trees.

Record three sentences telling me what you already know about trees, plants and growing.

Next, look at the PowerPoint presentation explaining evergreen and deciduous trees and different tree types.


If you can (and are with a grown up), go on a ‘tree hunt’ collecting leaves in a plastic wallet. The tree hunt tick sheet will support each group here.


Next, complete the tree sorting activity. Can you organise the images using what you have learnt? How can you tell the type of tree? (by the leaves).


Finally, use what you have learnt in the lesson to explain the different tree types (please record at least three sentences).
