'With Jesus, we learn as a joyful family and flourish to be the best that we can be'

Tuesday 23rd February

Good morning everyone,

I hope that you had a good half term break.  I know it was a little different to normal, but hopefully you have had a good rest and are ready to go again with our Home learning :)

Next Steps: Use our No Nonsense Spelling methods to practice the spelling words for this week. Remember that they can be found on our class page in the homework folder. They are spring 2 week 1.
In this lesson, we will read 'Carnival Jumbie' and listen to a reading by John Lyons from CLPE. We will learn about the context and then analyse the poem's structure, language, themes and tone. Please note this lesson covers slavery and enslaved people. If this is a sensitive topic for your child then please make sure they are adequately supervised. Teaching sequence and video clips of John Lyons reading poems from CLPE (https://clpe.org.uk/poetryline/resources/teaching-sequences/dancing-rain)
In this lesson, you will explore a series of shapes which grow in size. You will be spotting the patterns and exploring them so that you can make a general statement about the rules of this pattern. You will also learn how to investigate the patterns logically.

LO: To retrieve information

Choose your level, read the text and answer the questions.  Remember to mark your answers and go back to the text for any corrections to check why you went wrong.  Don't forget to self assess next to the LO.
