'With Jesus, we learn as a joyful family and flourish to be the best that we can be'

Monday 5th October

Hello everyone,

I hope that you have all had a good weekend.

This week we are going to be carrying on looking at the Firework Maker's Daughter, because we will be carrying on with this when we get back to school.  For Maths, I am going to be setting you some White Rose activities, these will be about place value so you can use what you know already to help you.  Some of them might be a little tricky, but don't give up keep thinking about what you know and you will be able to work them out.

Spelling: use the spelling techniques that we use in school to help you learn the week 5 spelling words: goes, said, height, heart, special, strength, surprise, thought, weight, woman, popular, possible, material, naughty and exercise.

English: LO To describe a character

This is going to be like the work you did last week for Lila and Lalchand but you are going to do Chulak and Hamlet.

Draw a picture of Chulak and then:

1. Describe his appearance (use the text)

2. Describe his personality (think about the words on OUR CLASS display to help) explain using the text, for example Chulak is determined because he ….

3 Describe his actions.  What does he do?

Draw a picture of Hamlet (the white elephant) and do the same: describe his appearance, personality, and actions.  Use the text to help.  Try to use the exact words where you can and use quotation marks to show this.

Maths: To apply understanding of place value

Complete the White Rose activities

Guided Reading: Log on to Purple Mash, then Serial Mash, then Emeralds, then Undercover Zoo.

Read Chapter 4 and complete the quiz, Police Man and Wanted activities.
