Reading Milestones
Reading is very important at St Mary's and St Benedict's Roman Catholic Primary School. It helps to:
- Stimulate imaginations
- Helps build vocabulary
- Helps to develop language skills
- Helps to develop comprehension skills
- Encourages a love for reading
The children not only have the opportunity to choose a book to keep and enjoy when they reach '150 Reads' but they will also receive a bronze certificate when they reach '50 reads', a silver certificate when they reach '100 reads' and a gold certificate when they reach '150 reads'.
Bronze Reading Award - 50 Reads
Silver Certificate - 100 Reads
Gold Certificate - 150 Reads
