'With Jesus, we learn as a joyful family and flourish to be the best that we can be'
Welcome to Ward Class!
Saint Margaret Ward, also known as the "Pearl of Tyburn", was an English Catholic martyr who was executed during the reign of Elizabeth I for assisting a priest to escape from prison. She was canonised in 1970, as one of the Forty Martyrs of England and Wales.
In Ward Class we have the following members of staff:
Mrs Tomsett, Class Teacher
Mrs Kerfoot, Teaching Assistant
Mr Smart, 1:1 Teaching Assistant
Miss Cookson, HLTA
Welcome back to the new academic year!
I hope you have all had a wonderful summer holiday. Things are going to be different in school whilst we all work together readjusting back to new school routines, but it will certainly be just as fun, and we are going to be learning as much as ever! This is just a quick note to let you know some of the things that are happening in the autumn term in our class.
Our PE day will be on a Monday. Please ensure full PE Kits are in school on this day.
The homework given each week will consist of: 15 spellings, times tables (TT Rockstars) and reading. In addition, sometimes topic related homework may be given.
There is a Homework section on our class page that can be accessed to remind children of their homework and they will also be set 2-Do's on Purple Mash sometimes.
Spellings given may consist of words from the statutory year 5/6 spelling list, spelling patterns from the No Nonsense Spelling scheme that we follow in school and words that are commonly spelt incorrectly by children in class.
Joining us in Ward class this year is Mrs Kerfoot and Mr Smart. Miss Cookson will also be in class on a Monday morning and will teach the children on a Wednesday afternoon.
If you have any questions, please contact me at school or on our Class Dojo page.
Thank you for your support,
