Immediate Engagement: Write three questions to ask your grown up. Don't forget to use capital letters, finger spaces and full stops in the right places. 


LO: To add prefixes to root words. 

Think about the work you did yesterday on suffixes (adding letters to the end of a word to change the meaning).

Today we are going to look at prefixes, which are letters that we add to the start of words. 


Can  you add the prefix un- to the root words below and then use each word in a sentence?

  • tie

LO: To solve addition problems.  

Click the link below and look at the lesson on 'Oak National Academy'. Today you will be learning about counting on and addition. 


LO: To recognise what is needed for plant growth.


Look at the time lapse video below of cress growth. Look at the number of hours it has taken for the cress to grow and talk to your grown up about what the cress needed in that time (water, soil). 


Next, design a poster to tell people about cress. Tell them how many hours it will take for the cress to grow (can your grown up help you to work out how many days this is?)


Draw pictures of the cress at different stages of growth and see if you can label the parts of the plant (leaf, root). 


Add any extra information you think it would be useful for people to know- Have you eaten cress before? What did it taste like? Use adjectives to describe what cress looks like.
