Please click on the link below.

Phonics:

This week we will be revising Phase 3 sounds ure, air and ear.

Please visit PhonicsPlay to access games focusing on these sounds. You could play Picnic on Pluto, Dragon's Den or Buried Treasure.

You could also play Tricky Word Trucks!

**If your child is more confident, please use the PhonicsPlay website to explore games and resources for Phase 4 and Phase 5.**

Maths:

Immediate Engagement: Write numbers 10-20 in numbers and words.

LO: To identify numbers to 20 by counting ten and then counting on.

In this lesson you will see how a tens frame is used to count a group of ten and then count how many more there are to make a teen number.

Please click on the link below.

Science:

LO: To design/make a rain gauge.

LO: To measure rainwater.

Watch the Blue Peter clip below about how to make a rain gauge.

Talk to your grown up about:

  • how the rain gauge will collect the water
  • how much rain it would collect today (is it sunny, raining or windy?)
  • where you would put your rain gauge to make sure it collected the most water when it's raining (e.g. not under a cover).

If you have some resources at home, have a go at making your own rain gauge. Be careful to follow the instructions and work carefully with your grown up. When it is finished, leave it in a safe space outside and see how much rain it collects.

If you don't have any resources available, please design your own rain gauge and record a set of simple instructions about how the man in the video made his.
