'With Jesus, we learn as a joyful family and flourish to be the best that we can be'

Tuesday 29th September

Tuesday 29th September

Spellings: write sentences with the week 4 spelling words, underlining the spelling word in each sentence.  Take care to look at the spelling carefully.

English: LO: To write a recount

Today you are going to write a recount of the Firework Maker’s Daughter that we have read so far.  Remember when writing a recount that you are not copying out the story.  Instead you are using it to remind you of the key events and then you use these to write it in your own words.

Maths: To use vertical methods for subtraction

You are going to continue today choosing your level, writing out the calculations vertically and working them out.  You can use the WAGOLL picture and steps to help with this.  Some of these are money calculations.  Remember the place value changes with decimal places:  H T U . ts hs

Guided Reading: LO: To scan for information

We are going to carry on with using scanning techniques that we have been using in class to answer the questions for an extract of Treasure Island.  There are different levels to choose from.  The answers are given but remember to go back to the text and work out why you went wrong for any that are incorrect.

Art: To create an image

Over today and tomorrow afternoon, you are going to create your own firework picture.  You can use colours, felt tips, paints, collage – anything that you have at home.  Think of the firework display that we watched in class and the poems you wrote to help you with your design.
