School Councillors Visit to Parliament

Seven of our School Councillors had a fantastic day visiting Parliament on Friday 3rd March.  They saw many sights of London along the way, including the London Eye, Big Ben, Downing Street and Buckingham Palace. A tour of Parliament which allowed them to visit both the ‘House of Lords’ and the ‘House of Commons’. The children were captivated by the many stories they were told about the monarchy and the history of Parliament. They had the opportunity to take part in their own debates and took part in a workshop where they learned about the role of the monarchy within Parliament from the reign of King John from 1199 to present day.
