Science Investigation - Conductor or insulator?, by Ms Patel

Date: 26th Sep 2023 @ 7:51am

As part of their Science topic on 'Electricity', the children were challenged to investigate which everyday objects such as coins, rubbers etc could conduct electricity. They used their knowledge from last week's lesson on complete series circuits to help them with the investigation. This helped the children to learn that conductors allow electricity to pass through and insulators do not.

Litter picking in our school grounds, by Mrs Lowe

Date: 6th Sep 2023 @ 9:06pm

Our first Geography topic is all about Rubbish and Recycling. Today, we looked at what the word 'environment' means and discussed how we look after our home, school and local area. Then we went litter picking around our forest school and KS1 building. When we got back to class, we categorised the rubbish and created a graph on Purple Mash. We found out that 94% of the rubbish we collected could have been recycled!
